All of the books i listed above and skills i got from reading them really gave me a serious edge over a lot of my competition. The cool thing about this board, i have become pretty good friends with a lot of my competition.
Everything i learned from reading i tried out on set. You need to just do it, then bring the questions on one or two particular aspects of your shoot to the boards. People will definitely point out in the right direction.
Everything i posted earlier will definitely give you a start.
