I would like to see the looks on their faces and hear the babble from their lips if someone broke this to them. This proves that this has nothing to do with socialism as they really don't even know what socialism is, nor the implications of socialism. Since they don't know what socialism is, then what is their actual motivation? Historically, minority groups such as blacks, jews, women, and eccentrics, especially when disagreed with were often accused of being evil, having special mind control (brainwashing) powers, plotting against the village. It's a primitive tactic that's often been surprisingly effective and works especially well on superstitious people like Christian republicans.
