Yes the members and guests (when the tour chat is on) can type in and chat with her. Tell her what they want to see, etc.
I use the same cam that I use to shoot her scenes. A panasonic ag-dvx 100b I run that via firewire to a workstation laptop. From there I use a program called Webcam DV that allows cams plugged in via firewire to be seen by streaming software like a webcam on usb.
From there I open up Adobe Live Media Encoder. It's free at Adobe.Com FANTASTIC program that allows you to stream. So we are able to stream out at 640 x 480 It looks great! I have a 2.5 mbps upload speed so it streams real nicely.
Takes a bit of tweaking the settings to get live media encoder just right...but that is a learning curve you'll have to overcome on your own.
Since I bought and have Adobe Flash Media Server up on the box already...all we had to do was configure it to stream live as well as stream our videos in the members area.
Then we set up one of the several premium flash players I bought...we use Flow Player for the live stream.
Then we scripted up a chat client to go along with it. Added some notification sounds so she can hear things when she might not be looking at the screen and some color codes for the differences between guests in the tour and members in the members area to be able to differentiate between the two when she is doing the first few minutes simultaneously in the tour and members area.
All of that may sound like a lot of stuff...but it's really not. It's all fairly simple and easy to do. My server box is a quad core by the way with 8 gigs of ram on a one gig network card because I didn't want to ever have to worry about that. We barely touch the machine with this setup.
For your final question...Streamate is simply a webcam company like so many others. But Shawn owns it (flying croc) and he is his own billing company. So in order for a guy to chat with any of the girls on Streamate they already have their card on file and charge them accordingly. It's the best moneymaking cam program out there. But again..that is totally separate from what I'm talking about. Claudia-Marie is one of the models in the "Pornstar" section there.
