Most "veterans" don't even know html.
So it boils down to spending money for them.
Most new webmasters know both html and php.
And they understand the web 2.0.
Definite advantage over veterans, imho.
The only thing missing for newbies is traffic.
And there we have it again:
be first on the internet - make bank.
be last - struggle.
