is there a way you can connect to a wifi network and talk through the wifi? (be able to transmit voice in addition to data)

the reason i ask is because the reception is very poor inside my house, and when i got my blackberry w/wifi i was finally able to talk on the phone inside my house (quality was poor when i had my non-wifi blackbery)

so i have an iphone over at my house right now, and we can connnect to the network through the wifi and send data, but the cell signal, when i just talked to somebody, was very poor, and im told the wifi just connects for data

in which case thats a dealbreaker

any thoughts?
