All kidding aside though, how about choosing between paying for health insurance and paying the mortgage?
Lots of people struggling out there nowadays and the last thing they need is to be hit with another big ass bill every month.
Reasonably priced health insurance with none of that pre-existing condition crap should be made available to everyone. I really hope they can pull it off.

But yes it is expensive and there is an easy way to make it cheaper.
1) Open up buying over state lines
2) Have a term life insurance type health insurance where your contract can be for 5, 10, 15, 20+ years.
Do those things first and lets see how it goes. No need to throw the whole system on its head when there are simple solutions that should be tried first.
