Jimmy Carter has dissapointed me.
I'm quite sure that having a black president can be very unnerving for more than a few members of congress as well as entire segments of the country's population. And while it is entirely possible that race may have been a factor in the internal motivations that caused Wilson to shout "You Lie!" at the president, shouting those words is not in itself racist.
To bring race into the arguement on this particular issue only helps to stir comments like this:

Democrats as a whole, just need to play this shit stronger. One thing I will give to republican administrations- when someone talks shit about them they just don't acknowledge it.
Someone overheard Obama call Kanye West a Jackass, so fucking what? He wasn't picked up on a mic, it's fucking hearsay, don't acknowledge it.
My message to the democratic party- No applogies. No fucking excuses. Just do the damn job and quit trying to grease the squeaky wheels, you're wasting time and just giving them more fodder.
