If I were someone like Reality Kings or Bang Brothers, absolutely. $40K now could save me potential millions in the future. For the smaller mom and pop shops, it may not be feasible but even doing something like Adobe did with their Adobe TV page (which is not DRM protected) prevents many users from ripping the stream and saving it to hard drive. And Adobe did that with the $995 streaming server package.
