Not really, it goes away after a couple years. But a good rock song and cold beer does sound good on a hot day, I will admit. I never did a couple beers though, for what, to put myself down for a nap? To drink is to run with it, for me anyhow. I don't do anything in moderation. If you're going to do something, do it right.

Now I live in the deep south where people medicate with alcohol daily to numb their miserable lives. And when I see them buzzing it is a harsh reminder of the sickness that it can be and how it keeps you in a bubble, accepting the terrible reality around you that you actually have the power to change. But you have to want it, and you have to take control. Alcohol will keep you from doing those things. It sounds crazy to someone who drinks all the time, like I myself used to. Or even trashing yourself occasionally. But in essence is it like surrendering yourself to a power that is not your own. Giving up control of yourself. Sure, it can be fun. But it is not real, because in the morning you will be your asshole self again. And hangovers suck, really they do.

And that is my opinion. I encourage everyone who drinks and scoffs at what I said to continue drinking, drink daily, and drink hard. Besides, you will never achieve this sort of wisdom unless you push the limits with alcohol hit rock bottom, and pick yourself up. However, some people do manage to function and ride it like a wave. To those who are able to do so and not fuck up everyone's lives around them, I congratulate.

cheers
