If I want some custom steel framework put together, do you think the guy I go to would turn down such a job because it is not worth as much as his wielder, his jigs, and assorted equipment? Will some plumber not show me some camera pictures of my pipes to show me why I should replace them, and then expect me to pay at least what his camera equipment and everything else rents for plus his labor? Think someone will not mow your lawn for less than what it costs to rent a mower?
I can understand commanding higher prices if you offer better quality than someone else. However often 1 shooter can give higher quality material with crap equipment versus another shooter who has the best of everything.

You are missing my point completely. You are not gonna spend $400 a day and get Dean Capture to work on exclusive content. Or get his quality of work for that price.
And im never gonna be on set with 2 $200 guys and be expected to shoot a DP scene with matching pics, edited video with 20 minutes of street pick up in a public place (risking arrest) and be expected to be at a Brazzers quality all for $400. Then you get mad at me because the guys u picked sucked ass and your location looks shity in stills??
On the low end Brazzers spends 6K per scene and it way shows. Their contract guys got huge dicks and get 1k+ per scene. in short they pay for quality and it shows in their final product.
I use top guys, top equipment, good props and choice locations and i get payed what i feel im worth or i wont work.
I still seem to be working a lot. So there are people that recognize my quality, my hard work to get that quality and my unique hardcore style. I guess Im doing something right.
I will put it in perspective. I made more today renting out my studio and lights than most people make shooting 2 scenes and working 12 hours a day to get that.
