Fact: go into any real recording studio in Los Angeles and you better know your way around a mac or you are not getting the engineering job.
Sure you can sit at home and think you are making the greatest concept album of all time with your acoustic guitar a mic and some free multitrack software, on your pc, but professional audio recording studios use macs and pro tools, period. Been in enough LA studios to shoot this crap down. Ive also sat in on prolly a hundred recording sessions in some of the top studios in LA from Rumbo Recorders to where tool records at Larrabee studios (i lived a block from them in the Valley) and where Slayer recorded at Track Record!
You are confusing pro audio with consumer computer use, big difference. Apples and oranges. No pun intended.
