Sure you can sit at home and think you are making the greatest concept album of all time with your acoustic guitar a mic and some free multitrack software, on your pc, but professional audio recording studios use macs and pro tools, period. Been in enough LA studios to shoot this crap down. Ive also sat in on prolly a hundred recording sessions in some of the top studios in LA from Rumbo Recorders to where tool records at Larrabee studios (i lived a block from them in the Valley) and where Slayer recorded at Track Record!

You are confusing pro audio with consumer computer use, big difference. Apples and oranges. No pun intended.
Thanks for telling me about recording studios since I am in one every week or so here in one of the biggest cities for music recording in the country and know 5 of the top producers in town, and have been at the biggest studios in town. Ill take your advice under advisement though. If you want to talk about non country music I talk quite a bit to this guy that was sort of involved in Stone Temple pilots, and some Velvet revolver group that signed one of my good friends to his label.. but again Im sure since you lived in L.A. at some point and sat in on some sessions you know all about it. Ill be glad to pass your advice along. Yes a lot of them use macs, but pro tools is for both mac and pc these days. I also do a lot of recording out of my studio here for other songwriters, but now I am worried if they know my computer isn't a mac they will stop wanting me to record their demo cds.... I better run out and buy a mac and get a lifetime pass to starbucks...... People care about the final product. The last 2 starwars movie soundtracks were done on GASP a PC using Steinberg Nuendo. Which is what I used for years. I just recently switched to Propellerhead Reason Record as I was on the beta testing team and I am unlikely to use anything else for a long time. And I use it on a GASP pc. lol

BAH mac sheep bah....
