My mom spent the last 15 years before she retired in charge of Infectious Disease Control at a major local hospital.

A seminar she would give included emphasis on handwashing techniques, etc. When the participants showed up and signed in, there was some sort of powder that she'd put on alot of the materials that would show up under a black light.

First thing she'd do is send them off to wash their hands as they normally would when on shift. They'd come back and she'd pull out the black light. It was amazing how much they missed.

Every sink in my house has antibacterial soap next to it. I keep hand sanitizer in my purse, in my car, etc. I wiped down shopping cart handles before I use them and I'm careful about how I open public bathroom doors after I've washed my hands.

Call me weird.. but I think it makes a difference. I know that all the adult gatherings I've gone to I hear about people getting sick afterward and I have yet to come down with a post-show bug.
