If you press them on the issue they will review it sooner, but you’re likely to get someone assigned to review it that doesn’t normally look at adult stuff and the likelihood of your ad getting approved is much lower.
My advice is to just wait it out and don’t draw any unwanted scrutiny to your account.

Interesting. When I first started promoting my site through Adwords back in '05, the process was nearly instant. They were popular back then. I can't understand why there would be such an increase in approval times today.
Makes no sense.
