Folks, how strict is Hotbox on their ratios? Because, looking at Janak's screencap at
http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...apture2009.png he is "over" on certain ratios. I'm showing his results to a friend who does a lot of mainstream PPC advertising,
The numbers were pretty small but I think I'm reasonably close:
Sept Aug July June Average
Hits 146000 689983 463874 23548
Unique 83736 375529 254100 14005
Free Joins 7548 33705 22938 947
Paid 247 1108 610 17
Unique:Hit 1.74 1.84 1.83 1.68 1.77
Free:Hit 19.34 20.47 20.22 24.87 21.23
Free:Unique 11.09 11.14 11.08 14.79 12.03
Free:Paid 30.56 30.42 37.60 55.71 38.57
Unique:Paid 339.01 338.93 416.56 823.82 480
Assuming I got those correct, 2 questions:
1. Does hitbox count hits or uniques for its ratios? It says it will convert you to revshare if you go above 1:20 - the average here was 1:21 or 1:12, depending on how they count it.
2. They also said they would convert to percentage if Free:Paid went above 25:1... Janak was above 30:1 every month... why didnt he get converted?
My friend has the bankroll to put this kind of campaign together, but looking at those ratios, we both got a little scared. If you throw $100k at an ad campaign, and the advertiser changes the payout 1/2 way through the campaign you could be out a LOT of money.
Thoughts?
