I'm a little out of the listening to rap scene but I used to go crazy for the shit, even used to make beats and spit some lines myself how embaressing when a friend finds those on my pc lol...

A few names come to mind thought, NAS, JAYZ TUPAC, BIG L- sick lyrics and delivery,,Kayne(some songs -limited), TI, biggie too, he had flow though not the best lyrics, don't get me wrong he had some great ones, but he was all flow smooth as butter, I'm missing so many lol been a long time, GURU, although dj premier helped, but guru could go on forever with a certain mellowniss to him, very enjoyable listening.. LUDACRIS - he is def pop club scene music but he no doubt is creative and has fun with his music and comes up with great lines, xzibit - back in the day before pimp my ride he was the shit, THE ALCOHOLICS syk lyrics back when.. gravediggers,, too many to list there has been a long list of great artist's in their own unique ways

NAS - I remember although an idiot, flowing freestyle in front of biggie and tupac and both them bein like wow, this kid has skills and biggie sounded like crap and tupac his from the gut style, heavy emotions singing didn't compare to NAS's freestyle.. forget which video that was in, some bootleg something or other if i remember correctly..

Kayne has lyrics & beats - go hard , good release for him in that track, tracks when someone has something real to get off their chest are the best..

WINNER BY A LONGSHOT imo, for witty lyrics is EMINEM for mega star,AND for the underground = DZK, eyedea & even some Benefit for the monotone guru style with sick sick lyrics...

I'm forgetting some, but it's been a while and I basically only listen to rap battles now when i listen to rap, I love the competition and witt that it takes for them... I'm from the country and remember how bubba sparxx went so I'll stick to listening even though making music (albeit subpar) gave me a new respect for what the artist's do to make their music, although I do believe that anyone can do it if they really wanted to, not superstar , but an enjoyable song you can listen to and remember the exact feelings when you wrote it and recorded it...

I have one like that , that I made for my fiance back when we first started dating and I got into a fight at a party being stupidly drunk and the guy who did the chorus for me went on to get a record deal in the UK and NYC so it's something I will always have and let me tell you too it melts any girls heart when you put yourself out there like that!
