Agreed about Android being the next big thing. Within 16-24 months it will be ubiquitous in mobile "devices," which include more than smartphones.
Compare Google and its developer-friendly strategy to Microsoft in the 80s-- the focus is on software and choice. Compare Apple to... well... Apple in the 80s, a hardware company that made it a pain for developers outside of Apple to innovate.
Doesn't the iPhone and its restrictive market smell a little bit like Apple in the 80s? Sure, the Android Market is a little more anarchic right now, but at the end of the day, freer markets tend to make better stuff... at least that's what I'm betting on.
