I got the strangest phone call last night. Advice needed.

About 4am I'm sleeping and my cell phone rings. I answer thinking it must be an emergency and it is some woman asking for a guy named Keith. I tell her she has the wrong number and she asks if I know Keith. I tell her no and she starts to cry. I ask if she is okay and needs me to call 911 or something. She then starts telling me how she works in a bar and late tonight a friend of hers came in and convinced her to take $400 out of the till and use it to play video poker. She expected to win and put the money back in the till. Of course she lost it all and now doesn't know what to do. She tells me her boss owns the house she rents so when he finds out in the morning she is going to get fired and kicked out of her house. She tells me she thinks she is either going to pack up her stuff and just run away or she might slash her wrists.

At first I was annoyed and thought it was a prank or something, but now I'm a little worried. Eventually she calms down and I just tell her she should go to her boss and tell him what she did. Own up to it all and throw herself at his mercy. She agrees. The call ends and I go back to sleep.

So about an hour ago I'm watching football and she calls me back and tells me she did what I told her to do and her boss forgave her, is going to let her work there still, but not have anything to do with the cash register and she can pay it back over a few months. She wanted to thank me for talking her down and offered to buy me lunch or a drink or something to say thanks.

Part of me says just go and get the free food or drink and let her feel good about herself and part of me thinks she is clearly not a very a stable person, accepting anything from her could be getting myself involved in a bad situation.

Thoughts?
