Yeah you can add it in the store, didn't see that.
Last weekend I bought an I7 920, P6T motherboard and ram for less than $900. It clocks up to 3.2 on air which is faster than a stock Mac Pro.
I love Apple, I have two Iphones and a Macbook pro. But their pricing and lagging tech makes me wince sometimes. I think if you really wanted to enjoy OS X you have to build your own box to get the necessary power.
