People seem to need the next big major disaster to look forward to. I'm not sure why. Back in the 70's the bible thumpers were predicting the start of the 7-year tribulation for 1981 (ultimate end of the world in 1988, one generation after Israel becomes a nation which was 1948. A generation in the bible is 40 years) Well, that didn't happen.
1996 didn't happen (some Nostradamus followers thought '96 might be the end)
Y2K 2000 came and went, nothing. (I get the feeling that some people were even disappointed)
Now 2012. Ka boom. This is it people, been nice knowing most of you.
