OK I'll give you a female perspective. I did the long distance thing for 2 months, we both stayed faithful and remained together. It was in no way "hard" for me to do it, because I wanted to. If I had been saying things like "It's so hard to be hit on by other guys" on the phone, that would have been a good clue that I was not really into staying together.
