Honestly i shopped around for a while, and that ASUS was the best deal i found..
Take for example the toshiba ^^
I just dont think a small CPU upgrade + blueray + 2gbram is worth extra $1000
I can get blurary USB for $200, 2gb ram is $50, so technically you are paying extra $750 for cpu??
Asus makes good stuff.. if i were you idget the ASUS for <$1000 then upgrade it to 8gb ram, and grab the free windows 7 upgrade...how many times are you gonna burn a blue ray disc? heck just buy external one if you need it that bad..
Remember the ASUS already has 16" screen.. no big diff from 16-17 really.. you wont miss it
