Asus makes good stuff.. if i were you idget the ASUS for <$1000 then upgrade it to 8gb ram, and grab the free windows 7 upgrade...how many times are you gonna burn a blue ray disc? heck just buy external one if you need it that bad..

Remember the ASUS already has 16" screen.. no big diff from 16-17 really.. you wont miss it
I think you bought a week or so too soon. I have been looking for a good laptop under $1000 that had dedicated video and DDR3. Who the hell needs Bluray on a laptop? Finally came across the new Toshiba Satellites and ended up getting the A505-S6992 for $899.99
