I heard from someone with a friend at their record company. They actually hired her to be a new brittany spears type act. She couldn't cut it though and they got a band together for her and made her all "edgy".
Don't know the authenticity of the information, but I wouldn't doubt it for a second. Their music seems way to fabricated imho.
