It was not "very common" it just happened on occasion with a few people. More often than not you would not get approved with stolen content, even on an AVS. Yes it helped that there were less people, a small community so to speak. I am not trying to say it was a dream world. I was stolen from back then too. I remember shit like Bianca's smut shack and many others. There just was a solid difference and that really did change with the DMCA laws.

Apic was a third party company some people used. There was also assorted black lists, good - bad - ugly, etc. Though a content shooter or broker could often send an email and get someone turned off affiliate wise.

Just remember to look around and keep in mind - we trained them. Er well at least some people trained them. Be it giving them free everything (hosting, content, scripts, anonymous payment methods, custom work, custom dumps, personal hosted upload crap) you name it. Makes me wonder why it did not take even less time before they figured nothing had any value anyways.
