Of course you would post this. Really would figure you as a republican and so called conservative that you would be OK with both state rights, and people taking personal responsibilities over their own actions. It would be a legitimate business that typically pays pretty damn well wage wise compared to other sectors in the service industry.
Our local casino has caused more traffic, but they also paid for the roads near it to be redone on their dime. Can not say they have caused more pollution, aside from traffic but then again they are major supporters of mass transit.
Suicides are not really reported on as a rule so no clue there. Divorces have remained pretty damn stable though. Still has the same common stupid issues and about half end up that way. We also never saw more bankruptcies, and I do not get the pain remark.
I really know they contribute a shit load to just about every project, school, social program, and anything else they can add to. They also run a pretty major clinic that is free to all of the Indians and super cheap to low income residents. They also happen to have a 24 hr mini stores or two located in town, where the have super subsidized gas and other products which is always nice.
Plus a hell of a restaurant, hotel, etc. With them so willing to sponsor stuff and their abilities to bring conferences and such to town they bring in huge amounts of money locally.
Oddly we hardly ever gamble. Every once in awhile we may visit them to eat. Then my wife will turn in some player card coupons for free credits on the slots and perhaps drop 20 bucks for fun. She is about average with wins/losses after coupons are considered, and they send them out often. Considering they have super cheap but very high end food, it really makes it worth it and a non financial issue.
