There are arguments to be made on the merits of the policies but instead the Obama noise machine is attempting to ram through the bill without even his most ardent supporters having any idea what it is about...... as is painfully demonstrated by the imbeciles posting in this thread.
If we are going to radically change health care in this country then it would be a good idea if people understood the basic issues involved. Instead people spend all their times frothing at the mouth about "tea baggers" and "death panels".
I strongly believe that most of the people who claim they support the Democrats' plan don't have any fucking idea what is is or what it will do. If people understood the implications then it would be very unpopular. That is why they are ramming it through as quickly as they can.

I think a lot of it is indicative of our government as a whole. They rush a lot of things and then try to paint with too big of a brush. COPA is a great example. They wanted to make it so that porn sites could not be accessed by kids. Had they took their time and crafted a good bill they could have done just that. You can argue for or against what it would have done to this industry. However, they made an overbearing, overreaching law that covered half the sites on the internet. The same with 2257. It worked fine, there had never even been an inspection, yet they changed the laws and made following the law perfectly nearly impossible (not to mention next to impossible to figure out)
These guys don't seem to have a scalpel, all they know is jackhammer and they end up doing too much.
Hell, I bet most of the people that will be voting on the bill in the next few days haven't read it and don't really know what is in there.
