So you did say exactly what I accused you of implying. That I was using my family just as an excuse to be lazy....that it wasn't really me setting my priorities, it was just me finding an excuse to not work hard.

See this is the inverse of your point about "yeah tomorrow is promised to nobody but what if you live to be 100 you'll be miserable because you don't have enough money"
Money comes and goes. You can bust your ass 100 hours a week and do all the right things, and still lose it all and be back to the 9-5 grind. Meanwhile, all you have to show for it is a good story (not you specifically, but people that this happens to)
At least I spent time enjoying life, instead of working insane hours so that one day I'd "have enough money to enjoy life"....because that doesn't come with a guarantee that you'll ever even get the money you're chasing.....and even if you do get it, alot of people realize it doesn't make them happy anyways, and they're no happier in their McMansion driving a BMW than they were in their 1000 sq ft condo driving a Chevy.
But if it makes you feel better, just keep thinking I'm lazy.
