I think you misunderstand me. When you use a cloak for referal code like this: bodsforthemods.com/archive/18magazine/join/
.. then users do not have a "choice". It's a rewrite, and considered cloaking by google. If you cloak, using another dedicated domain instead, like domain.com/archive/18magazine/join/ and place that link on your index (which is not same domain) , then google will eventually only penalize domain.com and not your index domain. It's the same logic if google penalized ccbill.com or something; they will penalize ccbill.com, but not those linking
to ccbill.com.
