Amusement park wise you HAVE to hit the original and still the fucking best there is. Spend at least half a day if not a full day at Knotts Berry farm. Just order your ticket or tickets online as it usually is cheaper. Though it is cheaper that Disney land by far and there is a reason the farm is the number 1 park. Find some boysenberry punch while there, plus the chicken is damn good, hell most of the food is.
Plus this time of the year the Halloween haunt is still going on I think. It costs extra but well worth it. Sure they have some sort of combo ticket.
Curious why didnt you check craigslist to verify activity before you came out?
Would think if you wanted to collect freebee's or cheap items for quick resale. The OC would not be the place to be. You would need to research other cities and better learn some other tactics beyond craigslist - like the mailer people get that tells them to leave stuff out on the curb for free pickup to go to some charity.

See I live in CA myself and people would have to pay me to live in that area. Hell in my mind that is not really even part of the state (yeah I know it is and everyone thinks of it when you say CA - Damn PR).
