One of my favorite sushi bars in the South Bay (of San Francisco) is called Sushi Masa - great sushi.
Another good Asian fusion/sushi place is
Blowfish Sushi. They have a few restaurants in the Bay Area, and one that I know of in LA as well.
The Polynesian roll is really good! It consists of flash fried salmon, BBQ eel, mango, papaya and avocado...
