well, why are there capable companies who manage other people's PPC campaigns?
why isn't someone flying their own banners and affiliate programs but sell their ad space.
Plenty of people who know their shit make more money managing someone else's campaigns.
Some pluses that come to mind:
you get % of client's ad spend right off the top. And probably % of sales generated
and get to play with a much bigger budget than your own
and of course (hopefully) access to much better tracking and the ability to see what sells and what doesn't down to the keyword, if the advertiser wants a ROI-centric campaign.
In affiliate marketing you don't always get to deep track and mostly shoot blanks to see what sticks. Not to mention your margins are much lower as a reseller than a product owner.
Of course if someone knew what they were doing with PPC AND had the budget power AND had special relationships with merchants which allowed them to get above the default pay rate, yes probably would never toy with other people's campaigns. But not everyone does that
