Guys, I'm in the biz and I know the score:
Someone has to fill out a icann complaint form for your record to be challenged. There are now people who specialize in targeting good names with bad records, so they can grab them when they drop.
As long as your email is accurate, you will get the complaint note from icann and you have a chance to change the record and everything's cool.
If you don't have an accurate email, the registrar will try to contact you through a phone number or address.
If ALL your info is inaccurate, the registrar can and will snatch it back from you and you are indeed fucked. There is a holding period where the registrar hangs on to it, and waits to see if you'll reclaim it--usually two weeks.
After that, you are indeed fucked. The registrars all want to reclaim good names, as they can hold them for as long as they feel like, and have the potential to resell them.
My advice: go now and update all your records now with accurate info.
