I see buzz-building campaigns all the time in many of the large social networks and not all of them succeed, it takes an "IT" factor for it to catch on beyond the initial base of paid influencers and bots. That's where the organic meme comes in. In essence, find the psychological "hook" and build content to glom onto it.

Do you think what Digital Playground or Intermix or any company does to launch an adult star is just "spam the hell out of one network"??? Of course, I agree, there is no point in backing someone who doesn't have any it factor, but, unless you also think Britney Spears and 'N Sync became organically known, then referring to this as organic is just plain wrong.
