I believe you can be against animal cruelty and still eat meat...
so I do...hehe
I'm a big supporter of farmers markets, etc. Having grown up on a ranch, I have more of a problem with some of these factory farms that isn't about meat vs. non-meat...
what many don't realize is the living conditions of some of these animals can have effects on us as well....cows fed with extra hormones and fed corn versus grass (because corn is cheaper, but cows can't digest it properly so it causes other issues)
I wonder how many people would continue to eat meat if they had to visit the cow that was going to be in their big mac...or kill it themselves...or watch the cows packed into tight spaces knee deep in cow shit, that is basically washed away with a little water when those cows are butchered...
BTW, I don't have a veg agenda and it leads to some interesting discussions with my fiance...hehe...I talk about ethical hunting and ethical farming...
her thing with animals, say she and I owned a farm and knew the animals lived a cruelty-free life safe from hormones, unsafe feed, etc. she wouldn't have a problem eating eggs produced by the chickens we had...same with if we had a cow that was meant to be butchered...she of course wouldn't be able to watch or participate...
It is funny about the trendy vegetarians versus those who've actually thought about it, don't support animal cruelty, etc.
I always find meat vs. non-meat arguments entertaining....
Time to go cook her up some meatless bbq ribs while I eat some roasted chicken, hehe
