I'd try and keep GFY exactly the same as it is now. Anything more or less would change the vibe. As you know, there are dozens of webmaster boards, but this one is the biggest and most popular. IMO, the reason for that is simple. Posters are allowed to say anything they want, aside from hate, illegal material, and blatant spam. The reason why I don't post on other boards is because moderators always go overboard with their rules and moderating. All the other webmaster boards are censored, heavily biased, and generally no fun.
