Yep! You are going to need a lot of patience. I submitted a patent application in Summer 1999 for my mainstream business and it is coming up for "First Office Action" from the Patent and Trademark Office this July (or so they claim... I'm expecting it to be delayed even further) Thats 4 years so far, and first office action does not mean you get the patent, it means the process begins.

Total spent so far is approximately $40k, and we haven't even gotten to the hard part yet where you have to go back and forth with the PTO and your attorneys and get the damn thing granted.

But it will all be VERY VERY lucrative if it is granted. Can't wait.
