So many failed blogs have been built on that illusion.
If you find something interesting, chances are that other people think the same thing. Which means you will have lots of growth potential, but also lots of competition. The more people you're competing with, the lower your chances of being successful are.
On the other hand, if you manage to corner a niche that features something truly uninteresting but widely used, you'll have far less competition and will have a much bigger chance of getting lucrative traffic.
The biggest online authority on yeast infections makes far more money than a mediocre tech blog
