I'm sure there are reasons that people hide on here. Some of them just like to raise hell and act out and not suffer any repurcussions for their actions so they stay "secret". And no, I don't know why they do it. It's crazy. But then again there have been plenty of insane people on here who simply sat back in a single wide trailer and typed the craziest fantasies I've ever read. Remember pussyserver? He was at times a porn mogul, a FBI agent, a millionaire, and a hundred other things. 
Turned out he was just a poor broke guy living vicariously on GFY. And that's just ONE guy. Look at gideongallery...he fantasizes that he knows more than any of us how to make money in this business...even though he isn't even in this business and has never made a penny online. So yeah, it's crazy...but there are some disturbed people in this world. |
I understand what you mean, I mean, look at this Chronig or whatever the fuck his face is above me... But my honest question is in regards to the highlighted sentence above... How do you know he doesn't make any money online, let alone in the industry? Unless you're beside him on a daily basis watching every thing he does on the internet, you don't know. For all we know, GideonGallery could be a very knowledgeable mainstream guy and run one of the big mainstream sites... Just because he doesn't flaunt it doesn't mean he's a surfer...
Look at Franck, DarkJedi, etc... Those guys never flaunted their shit, were some of the biggest trolls on GFY, yet anybody knows they run some successful sites in the industry.
Case in point, look at xlogger, I bet you don't even know who he is, as he wasn't very vocal or anything, but the guy runs a site with an Alexa rank of 865... I bet you, nor anyone else knew that...
Les, no I'm not saying that, I'm saying webmasters do sway the ranks a bit more then surfers do. What do surfers get out of the Alexa bar? Nothing, why would they install it? To search? Google.
