IMO its a good idea. A lot of people have no idea of portion control, they just keep eating until they cant eat no more.
however, i think the BMI scale is a bit fucked. personally for me, when i was "crack head" skinny I still had a BMI of 24 which is considered "normal" but only a few pounds away from "overweight"
for me to be in the "normal" range I would have to weigh 150lbs to 190lbs which being 6'2" in nearly impossible if i wanted any muscle mass.
when i was playing sports in college and lifting a lot, i was in really good shape with less than 8% body fat, but still had a BMI of "overweight"
