I don't know why they do that. I'm like you, I type in the address bar. And when I know the t.v. channel I want I just go there. But I do see the trends of what other people do and I use them to my advantage.

My guess would be because they dont want the domain name to show up in their drop down menu. So instead they type it in to google and click on that link.

This whole thing is ridiculous for both sides on many levels.

1. If D's program didnt have anything in the ToS regarding bidding on certain terms he owes the affiliate money. Period. Doesnt matter what the affiliate bid on. You dont decide that you dont want the traffic but not tell the affiliate and accept the sales for three months, then with hold the money owed. As has been said by most everybody: You inform the affiliate that this traffic is not accepted and pay out what is owed, then update the ToS.

2. As a program owner, when you're clearly in the wrong, why you would keep this going for a mere $350 is ridiculous. Something else is going on that we're not aware of ($$ issues) or they're idiots.

3. As an affiliate why would you come to the biggest industry board and spell out how you make $$, inviting competition with your ppc campaigns, for a measly $350?

But thank you to both for the very entertaining read.
