I'm planning to leave SF on Friday morning (around 5-6am), then go to Yosemite (but will probably avoid that now). Then Death Valley (it can be instead of Yosemite), sleep in the motel for one night. Continue to Vegas. Spend 4 days there (visit Grand Canyon maybe one day... again leaving at around 5-6am so I can get there till 10-11). Then on 23rd come to LA. Chill in there till 27th, eventually go to Disneyland. On 27 morning leave for SF, and if have time stop by Monterey just too make a break and enjoy that beautiful little town. In the evening I'd be in SF again.

Sound good?
Let's start with day one.

You are planning on driving from San Francisco to Death Valley? That is about 550 miles, 9 1/2 hours, taking the fast and most boring route.

Are you planning on moteling it between SF and DV? If so, get off I-5 and go thru Sequoia. Take your time getting to Death Valley. It isn't going anywhere.

Oh, the drive from LA to SF (thru Monterey) is beautiful, but it will take 12 hours, and the best part is up north. You should stay in Big Sur and drive to SF the next day.
