I understand what you are saying Will, but I still think everything you said (minus the medium being video), can apply just as much to a text based site as to this one, and even better in my opinion
(video captures are a novelty, kind of like a youtube tutorial on photoshop where you sit there painfully watching the guy move the mouse cursor slowly over obvious concepts... honestly, text and maybe some screen caps is the best way to convey this kind of specific info, if a site bangs cards, you can say that in words just fine)
if a surfer trusts a review from a text based site they can return for more just fine, a good review site is a good review site
