The answer to this question is no doubt very much influenced by where one lives and what airlines heavily serve the main airports in your area. When I used to live near Newark airport in NJ back in the 90's I used to mainly fly Continental and I liked it just fine. But I have not flown them in ages and now I prefer Southwest. Not only fast, cheap and efficient for most of the destinations I go to from Fort Lauderdale, but they also have a simple program. For every sixteen one ways trips or eight round trips completed of any distance, you earn a free domestic round trip flight.
