And not only wouldn't I have any idea what the Golden Girls theme was - I don't think that could count as a song

Interesting about that one. That *was* the only major hit for White Plains. But White Plains didn't have much claim to being a hit band; it was really a backing band for Tony Burrows, a very talented studio musician - who had similar hits under different names during the same era: Edison Lighthouse (Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes), The Pipkins (Gimme Dat Ding), The Brotherhood of Man (United We Stand), First Class (Beach Baby). Well, a notable instrumental, but there were lots of others that preceeded it that were terrific...check out the Ventures from the 60s
