I would at least call to make sure they have it before making the drive.

It's like a catch 22 right now with brick and mortar retailers. Stores start keeping less stock because more people are buying online, customers buy online because stores keep less stock.

If I want a book that hasn't been on the times best seller list in the past few years or doesn't have "for dummies" in the title I've come to accept I will probably have to buy it online. Same for movies, if it's not a recent wide release chances are I will have to order that too.

Barnes and Noble is usually pretty decent with their dvds since they keep alot of critereon collection in stock, but for a "book" store their selection really sucks. The one by me didn't even have any Dennis Lehane in stock. Fucking Dennis Lehane- famous for Mystic River, has Shutter Island coming out shortly, nothing on the shelves. It's fucking bullshit.
