So who do you think is policing the data in order to work out if someone is alledgedly downloading copyrighted files?
(hint: it is the ISPs)

You think that is good?
a) So Grandpa John has them interwebs things and his snotty grandkid comes over and torrents some stuff. Then Grandpa John has his internet taken away.
b) Bob wants to share his wifi so has it unsecured, likes millions do. Someone uses his IP to download illegal content. Bob has his internet removed.
c) Spoofing IPs is easy. Someone spoofs Jason's IP and he gets his internet connection removed.
d) How do you actually PROVE someone downloaded a file? Deep packet analysis. So you lose all privacy as the ISPs have to monitor all your traffic to work out if you MIGHT be downloading something illegal.
You really think all that is a GOOD SOLUTION?
You are, of course, entitled to your opinion. Piracy is clearly wrong. But this, in my opinion, is an appalling, unenforceable attempt at a solution.
