From memory there are several L lenses that are parfocal which means they don't need to be refocussed if they're zoomed.
There was a video guy I knew who was telling me about lenses like that on video cameras. I've always wanted a lens like that. Any links on which L lenses are parfocal lenses? I known my 24-70 isn't.
