high end 3d software will benefit greatly. Most modern software has been written with CPu expansion in mind -- this is, if it'll handle 4, then it'll handle any number. The software doesn't have to be coded to use a specific number of cores.
Actually, that should stand for any code that uses multicore, including editing and most graphics programs.
Some people will say that's too much -- but if they made a 200 core cpu, I'd be able to bring it to its knees.
