Preparing for the future of mobile advertising, Apple is purchasing mobile advertising company, Quattro Wireless. The move repositions Apple in the race against Google, who?s Android platform has served as the main competition for the company. Tuesday?s announcement and the weeks long buzz surrounding the Google mobile phone, the Nexus One, may have driven Apple to make their latest move.
The financial aspects of the deal have not been released to the public of yet.
Apple is arguably the current leader in smartphone technology with their incredibly well received iPhone but before now Quattro had been responsible for crafting the ads for it, rather than it being created from inside the company. Google consistently prefers that its operations come from inside.
Already, Google purchased Admob, a competing mobile ad company for $750 million.
